Sam,
or as we fondly call him "Sammy," was given to me as a birthday
present by my father and his wife on my 40th birthday and what a
blessing he has been! I grew up with cats all my life, but never did I
have a cat as precious and sweet as Sam. I call him "Mi Santo" which in
English translates to "My Saint" because he is a saint. We recently
brought another kitty to our household and Sam has welcomed her with
open arms. He has made her feel right at home by letting her sleep in
his basket and by sharing his feeding bowl.
Sam is very handsome, has beautiful cotton-like fur and big fuzzy paws.
He is also very smart. Every morning when my daughter's alarm clock
goes off, Sam runs straight for her room and starts to meow at her until
she gets up. Then, he follows her through her morning routine, sits and
accompanies her while she has her morning cup of coffee and then walks
her to the door when she is getting ready to leave the house. He will
follow you around the house wherever you go. And even when we go
outside, he will sit on the windowsill and watch over us. He loves to
be around people and loves to be carried. When I carry him he caresses
my face with his big fuzzy paws. Everyone that comes to our house,
whether a cat lover or not, falls in love with Sam. He is simply
irresistible.
Sam has now been with us for a year and it has been a delight to have
him around. When I see his picture or when I talk about him, he brings
a smile to my face. Our "Sammy" is one of a kind and we couldn't be
happier that he has become part of our family.
