On
a beautiful spring day one May, I was having a burger at a local
eatery when I became aware that a very thin, ragged-looking cat was
staring at me through the window. I went outside to pet her, and she led
me to five newborn kittens in a storm drain beneath the building. I went
home and got my cat carrier and a box, and ended up taking mother and
kittens home. Today, Olympia is the most beautiful, happy kitty one
could imagine, and four of her offspring are right here with her (the
fifth lives with a friend). Olympia's nickname is French Fry because she
apparently begged for fries at the picnic tables outside the hamburger
stand where I found her.
Olympia is very special to me not only because she is so beautiful and
sweet, but also because she has come such a long way from being homeless
to being so comfortable and well-adjusted in her permanent home. She is
now living the good life!
