About Us
Mia, the Cat of the Day
Name: Mia
Age: One and a half years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Devon Rex
Home: Oregon, USA

This is Mia. What makes her so special is that she was adopted through a breed rescue program. Her entire family was abandoned by their owner. When we first received Mia, she was infested with ear mites, fleas, and ringworm. Shortly after she came to us she developed a horrible itchy rash on her underside that caused her to tear her fur out. One year later, Mia has a perfect bill of health: her skin is all grown in and her ears are clean. She is a true survivor!

She is an active, outgoing, shoulder-riding kitty who immediately becomes attached to any new humans she encounters. As you can tell from this photo, she loves to hang out in high places, and will often use someone's shoulder as a launching pad to reach these places. Her favorite game is probably launching onto one of these high places before we have a chance to stop her! Her favorite toy is her Cat Dancer, which was given to us by the Humane Society when we bought her. She was very isolated at first and the Cat Dancer was the toy that brought her out of her shell. Unlike most kitties, Mia likes water and will often hang out in the kitchen sink, even as we are trying to wash dishes!
