We
got Dezi from a worker at our Vet Clinic. Her Persian mother cat got
out and then had a litter to which she was selling. I stopped in one
day looking for a male Siamese. She told me all about the litter so I
was willing to go and look. That is all it took! What a handsome fella'
he is and a purr to comfort your sole. My husband is partial to
tabbies so this one was his job to name and would be his cat ... yeah
right!! Like we can tell a cat who they belong to!!!
Dezi is very willing to check out new things. He can pull open an
unlatched door and get out of a room, our other cat that is older can't.
He is happy to be inside and spend the day playing. Naps are not top on
his list. Keeping track of anything that moves is. He loves to watch the
birds and chase a ball or tackle a string. He will play in a plastic bag
(supervised of course) or even a box. Then, if a toe or a finger is
under the covers moving he will leap and jump till he catches it. He
lost a baby tooth in the neck of our Siamese so he must use him for
teething. They are nonstop play mates. They do have an outdoor kennel
that they use more in nice weather.
Dezi likes food and hasn't missed a meal. He hides under the empty
chairs at the table and will sneak over to my lap if it smells like
something up his alley. His favorite food is Yogurt, his big brother
taught him that it is real good to eat! They protest if we don't have it
every morning But, give up if it is not served. It is one of the few
things I let them have in the way of people food. But it is hard not to
give such a cute little guy anything he wants. That is what he is hoping
for in this photo. Isn't meal time all day long?
Since we don't have a dog, I wanted the boys to greet us when we came
home so I started giving them a treat when I came in ... it only took
one time and now they are happy to stop whatever they are doing when
they hear the garage door open. Even if I have not left the yard, I have
to be careful not to close or open the door or they think it is "Treat
Time" and run and cry at the treat door. No matter who comes home first
or how many times we return we always have to hand out a treat.
Every morning I get them up and they get a treat. They don't get to
sleep with us so that is their reward. Life is simply on Cat's terms we
are just happy to be a part of it.
