This
is our bright-eyed, happy-go-lucky, sweetheart named Pepper Jack.
He was born to a feral cat that we feed. She brought us her three
kittens when it came time for them to learn to eat. The ending to a very
long story is that we managed to rescue all the kittens. We are under
the control of nine, yes, I said nine cats! Seven are rescues from that
trap-smart mama cat.
When we got our first glimpse of the kittens we were shocked by the
coloration on two of them. One was a long-haired cream and brown, the
other was silver, orange and white. The third was the average medium
haired gray kitten. Once we gained his trust we found out that he was
not average at all! The minute I spot him I smile. His eyes are wide and
bright. He is very photogenic and very much a ham. It is a good thing
because pictures are all we have to prove that he exists. No strangers
will ever see him out in the open!
In this picture he is doing his nightly bedtime foot attack! A few
minutes after the foot fury he moves on to cheer up one of the other
cats. He is always busy spreading cheer and laughter. I love and adore
all of my cats, but never before have I had one that can make me smile
just because he walked into the room. He is a wonderful little boy and
even though we have cats coming out of the woodwork, we are so glad to
have him. He is so full of wonder and joy. He loves to play and he loves
to be loved. We hope Pepper Jack has a long and happy life with us and
all of our furbabies. The other cats love him as much as we do. I think
that makes him pretty special!
