Rusty
first came to us as a stray and then we gave him to my grandpa.
Rusty was about two years old when he took him in. He was perfectly
healthy. My grandpa has hearing and eye problems so at night Rusty
helps him to the bathroom. Rusty also finds pills and other things that
he drops on the floor. Rusty is so friendly and loves company. His
favorite toy is a little catnip toy that I made for him. He will play
for hours at a time with the toy. You can't look at Rusty and not laugh
at his silliness.
Recently Rusty has had a virus. We thought he would get better but that
was only the beginning. After many vet visits, Rusty was diagnosed with
diabetes. We started out giving him oral pills of insulin. Now we have
to give him insulin shots. It was all worth it. My grandpa was so
upset when he first heard the news, but now Rusty is doing so good he is
extremely happy. He is back to his friendly, helpful self! Rusty will
always be "The cat of the day" to him!!
