Jack
deserves to be honored for all the affection and love and laughter
that he brings to my life. I was given Jack about a week after my other
cat, Pal (six years old) was hit and killed by a car. I was devastated,
and didn't think I could ever have another cat, but Jack brought me back
with his adorable face, big baby eyes and kittenish pranks. While he is
mainly an indoor cat, we do go for walks; him in his harness and on his
retractable leash. Let me tell you, even though he's just a little
squirt, it's darn difficult to "retract" that leash! When Jack gets it
in his mind he doesn't want to go in, he doesn't move for anything;
unless he gets picked up that is! He is a great jumper and loves to give
me a run for my money while getting into as much mischief as he can.
His favorite sleeping place is underneath the blankets curled up next to
me or on the pillow curled around my head and his favorite play areas
are in the cabinets (of which he opens the doors by himself!). Not
having kids, I never thought I'd have to child-proof my house. Boy, was
I wrong!! While laying down, Jack loves to groom me by chewing my hair
and licking my face. I guess he thinks I'm his mom and he wants to take
care of me. Every time I look at Jack, I thank my lucky stars for
bringing him to me. He has a personality that is so endearing, I just
treasure him.
