Reggie
is a very courageous cat, and found a special spot in our
hearts that "fateful" day in the summer of 1999. This is Reggie's story:
My family and I were spending a lazy summer at our cabin in Rhode
Island. It's pretty far out in the woods, so at night you usually hear
the wildlife. Well, one night we heard a sound that was pretty out of the
ordinary, a chirping sound coming from the lofters of the Cook House! It
went on the next night, too. So the next day we got a ladder and
flashlight, and was shocked at what we found. Baby Squirrels! That's
right, tiny pink, squeaking tree rats. Being an "Animal Family" my aunt
put on some gloves and brought them into a box because we figured they
were orphaned since they had been making such a racket for the last
couple days. We even fed them some milk from the tip of a spoon! That
afternoon my mom made arrangements to take the three babies to a
veterinary office who took wild animals. Two long hours later, we
arrived. Now you may be wondering why the heck we were trying to save
these animals that some people hate, but I'm sure glad we did because
Fate led us right to Reggie. In the corner of the waiting area was a
cage of kittens that had been abandoned by a sea wall. After lots of
begging, I picked out the tiny furball that would grow into Reginald,
the Beastie Boy!
Reggie is a very friendly, sociable cat. He comes when
he is called, and takes no sass from our pooch! He loves to "fish" from
our fish tank (or rather drink from it) At night he sleeps right on my
pillow, or sometimes he positions himself under my hand. I'm so glad
that we got The Reginator.
