I introduce Smokey - a "sack of potatoes" cat. He showed up in our
back patio as a little wet kitten sitting in the rain after his Mother's
owners moved away with his Mom. I don't know what happened to the rest
of the litter and I didn't want another cat, but I couldn't leave him in
the rain. Poor little wet kitten. That was six years ago. Now Smokey is
an important part of the family. Always good for laughs and an efficient
lap warmer in the evenings. At night when everyone is sleeping, he turns
into his alter ego, "Captain Midnight". It is this cat who purrs
relentlessly accompanied by small quantities of drool and sharp little
claws kneading your flesh. What a lover boy! He enjoys the company of
his two other sisters and adopted brother. Sometimes it sounds like
thunder as they chase each other upstairs playing tag. His other hobbies
include; sitting on the morning newspaper while you try to read around
his rump, sleeping, being underfoot, sleeping, looking out the window,
sleeping, and the occasional nap. He began as a kitten rescue. Now he's
my good friend. Thanks Smokey. You mean a lot to me. I glad you choose us.
