Abigail
was living in the Humane Society's quarters for lost or
unwanted cats when we found her. She was one of those cats whose eyes
said it all. We really had no choice but to select her as a pet for my
Mother, who was 88 at the time. Abigail is a cat that could have
filled the void for anyone. She has that kind of personality. However,
she has settled in to being Queen of the house and enjoying every
minute. She eats the very best, sees her vet regularly, is groomed too
frequently, sharpens her claws on the carpet and sleeps where ever she
pleases. This is exactly what every cat longs for, isn't it? It really
doesn't matter, because, the joy and companionship that this furry
little feline has provided to her new owner is worth all of that and
more. Incidentally, there is a line-up of people willing to care for
Abigail if, or when, she might need a new home. We all hope it won't
be for many years.
