Our
big Jake is about four years old, and is possibly an Angora mix. We
first locked eyes with his odd eyes (one blue, one gold) at the local
humane society. He looked pretty miserable - he had been shaved for
fleas and the fur he had left was gray from the newspapers in his cage.
But he seemed calm and happy even though he had been living in his cage
hoping for an owner for over two months.
That was more than a year ago. Jake's hair has grown back long and
thick, and he's still a calm and happy cat. We brought home Elwood, a
feisty kitten, around the same time we got Jake and they get along like
brothers - they fight often and care about each other (and what the
other is up to) always.
