This
is Chauncey Jerome DuBois. Although we found him in
an animal shelter, he has all the characteristics of a fine flame
point. He is extremely fastidious in properly caring for his
beautiful silky coat, and asks each morning to be combed, just in
case he missed something on his own.
Chauncey is very talkative and sociable, unless you introduce a
new male cat to his household. When this occurs, he becomes "super
cat," convinced that he weighs 50 pounds (rather than the actual nine) and
that he is the meanest thing on four paws. Once he gets used to a
new "friend," he loves to romp and play, but there is always a
period of serious adjustment with acceptance under his terms!
A strong jumper, Chauncey loves to leap to the top of our canopy
bed and march around proclaiming his prowess in full voice. His
favorite pastime (after a few naps in the warm sunlight) is to watch
the birds who feed just a few feet from our kitchen window.
